Capitol Cooking

Check out our new television show, airing locally on DCTV (see schedule) and on the web here. It focuses primarily on our culinary job training program, which prepares unemployed and homeless adults for careers in the foodservice industry. The show highlights the kitchen’s role in educating adults to help them complete our mission of strengthening bodies, empowering minds, and building community.

Our chefs teach many of the culinary lessons (some of the chefs are graduates of the job training program); we also bring in special guest chefs from local restaurants to teach some specialty lessons. Each episode will contain interviews with students and kitchen staff, showing the positive changes that people are making in their lives.
