DC Central Kitchen is constantly trying to develop partnerships with individuals and organizations to recycle more food, as well as promote Community Kitchens and job training programs as effective methods in the fight against hunger.
The Campus Kitchens Project Doubles in Size
This fall, students will return to school to volunteer at 6 Campus Kitchens. Students heading back to school will find service and leadership oppportunities through New schools for this fall include Marquette University in Milwaukee, Augsburg College in Minneapolis, and Loyola College in Baltimore. Since its inception in 2001, The Campus Kitchens Project has engaged the hearts and minds of over 500 students, who have contributed more than 10,000 hours of volunteer service cooking and delivering more than 60,000 meals.
