02.16.2009 --

Stay updated on the endeavors of Culinary Job Training students! Visit Stocks, Sauces and Soul, CJT's new blog.

Students recently took a field trip to the MLK library and learned how to identify salad greens and make salads with Linda Vogler, Culinary Arts Coordinator. The CJT students are participating in a self-empowerment sessions focusing on repeated unsuccessful behavior and turning obstacles and adversities into strengths, led by Ron Swanson, the CJT Life Skills Coach.

Currently, students are working on creating their resumes with Julia Reticker-Flynn, specialist in workforce development. They will also help with St. Jude's Gala at the National Building Museum.

As a background on the Culinary Job Training program, please read our "About Us" page.

In addition, you can read all about the week-to-week experiences of the recently graduated Class 73 by going to the "Class History" page.

The blog will be updated weekly, so feel free to follow along with the students during their exiting journey!
